A long awaited dream is coming true for the Irish! September 28, 2012 is a day in Peoria Notre Dame’s history that will not soon be forgotten. Bishop Daniel R. Jenky, CSC, our administrative team, and leaders broke ground at the site that is being developed into the new Peoria Notre Dame High School Complex. This ground breaking and blessing ceremony marked the beginning of an exciting, multi-phased building project that has been talked about for several years. It is now a reality.
The project is broken into different phases. The first part of Phase 1 is the completion of the groundwork and utilities with an approximate projected cost of $2.7 million. Work on this phase began in September 2012 with site prep and grading. The next part of Phase 1 is the football and soccer stadium/complex, along with the baseball and softball complex, practice football and soccer fields, tennis courts, and parking, which is anticipated to cost $5.5 million for the stadium and $2.3 million for the ball fields and courts. For the first time in our history, we will finally have a true home-field advantage for our football and soccer teams.

Phase 2 will be the new Peoria Notre Dame High School building. Although we have yet to finalize all aspects of the overall design, we do have initial dimensions that will provide more than 230,000 square feet of state-of–the-art educational facilities. The anticipated budget for the new high school is $30 million. As plans are refined, we will more clearly know the total amount for final construction.
Check back often, especially in the spring, as construction picks up again to see and read about continued updates to future home of Peoria Notre Dame.
