From the Principal:

As we know, Homecoming Week is a busy time for us at Notre Dame.  Again, please remind your son/daughter(s) to get involved in these fun activities.  This would include, video film skits, powder puff game, the Dozer game, the dance.  The administration looks forward to supervising and participating in our students Homecoming events.  We hope to see all of our families throughout the Homecoming Week.

On October 6th, we have an institute planned, the topic will cover the Social and Emotional Needs of Adolescents.  We are excited to be able to offer this much needed seminar. (Just a reminder, students will not be session that day.)

Soon we will be starting our College Readiness on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  We look forward to helping our students with Career Cruising (helping to guide them to future careers) and college preparation materials (help prepare for ACT, SAT Exams).  Thanks for your continued support to help prepare our students for their successful future.

As always, feel free to contact us with your concerns.  We are here to help support your son(s) and daughter(s).  Bless you for sending your children to our school.  Thank-you again, for the sacrifices you make daily so your children are able to attend our great school.  It is appreciated and does not go unnoticed.

Blessings,

Randy Simmons

Campus Ministry

Our Teens for Life group met last week to begin their work to promote the Right to Life movement among the student body. We had a great turnout and are very encouraged in the excitement that our students show in this amazing work in our Catholic identity. Students continue to join our small groups which allow for an informal setting where they can ask questions, pray together, and grow in their faith together. I am also noticing a growing number in student presence at our daily masses and adoration. Many fall sports’ teams have made it a part of their weekly preparation to attend one mass together before school. This is a great tradition and practice that allows our students to learn how to put God above and before all things. Thank you for your continued support and prayers for the students and our Peoria Notre Dame family.

In Christ,

Father Kyle Lucas

Chaplain

Blue & Green Gala – We still need helpers for the Silent Auction Committee and Advertising Committee.  We have lists of items/ads that have been given in the past and just need people to follow-up with phone calls to businesses and individuals to see if the item or ad could be given again this year.  Could you help by making those phone calls?  The calls would need to be made beginning in the next month.  Please considering helping; we really need you!
