I am honored to be the second president of Peoria Notre Dame Catholic High School. I want to thank Msgr. Watson and all the administrators, staff, and so many of you for welcoming me. I truly feel that we are a family, God’s family, at PND. Msgr. Watson deserves a lot of credit for sharing with us his leadership, wisdom, and dedication. He is truly someone I hope to emulate in my role as president.
As we prepare for a new school year I am excited and nervous, maybe like a new freshman! Yet I know that what we are about at PND is forming each young person—mind, body, and spirit—in our rich Catholic faith while providing challenging academics so that they can be the best disciples for Christ and the most learned according to their ability.
I am such a firm believer in Catholic education because I see how it forms the complete person. As a graduate of Spalding in 1985, I am aware of how my Catholic education prepared me for life, for the priesthood, and for leadership. I know it has helped my brothers and sisters who graduated from Spalding/Academy of Our Lady in 72, 73, 74, 76, 78, and 80. We have the opportunity and the responsibility as faculty, staff, and administrators to give all that we can to help the students become the best they can be and to assist them on their journey to heaven.
I know so many of you are dedicated to the good of PND, and I want to thank you for that. So many parents, grandparents and others have sacrificed to make the choice of Catholic education for their children and for that we are thankful. As I get to know all of you in the PND family, I look forward to interacting with you and working with you to make PND the best Catholic secondary school in our area.
I ask for your prayers and support as we move forward in our capital campaign and begin site work this fall. It is an exciting time to be involved, and I hope you will join me in this new venture!
