Please join us to say hello to former Bergan High School English teacher and St. Thomas Grade School principal, Ann Cleary Ribando, at she autographs her book Breaking Through: The Story of Bob Cleary about the life of her late husband. Bob, who lived as a quadraplegic after a devasting diving accident in the summer after his graduation from Spalding Institute in 1956, overcame his disability and graduated with honors from the University of Illinois. An artist and writer, he became an award-winning teacher and beloved principal at Bergan High School. Tremendously popular with faculty and staff, parents and students, Bob is remembered for his personal courage and spirit as well as his devotion to students.

All are welcome. Refreshments will be served.

Breaking Through is $13.95. All profits from the sale of the book have been directed by Ann and her husband Curt Ribando to the Livingston Teachers’ Fund at Peoria Notre Dame High School. For those unable to attend, autographed copies of the book may be ordered through Ann Ribando at Tax must be paid on in-state orders only. A small shipping and handling fee will be charged.
