Please note:

There are times during the enrollment evening in which there is a prolonged wait to visit with the counselors because so many people come right at 5:00. We have found that arriving midway through the designated hours makes for a shorter wait.) During the enrollment evening, your student will make some course selections. For an incoming freshman, the number of electives to take is very limited. Students will have the opportunity to choose from one of four foreign language offerings (French, German, Latin, and Spanish) or an Art or Music elective.

The High School Placement Test (HSPT) scores determine initial class placements for core subjects. If you aren’t in agreement with a placement, counselors will provide you with the necessary information regarding the placement appeal process. Due to time constraints on your scheduled enrollment night, there is not sufficient time to address placement issues during that evening. Placements can only be altered through the appeal process.

If your student did not take the HSPT, Counselors will provide information so that your student can be scheduled to take the test. Also, please bring copies of report cards and standardized test results for grades 6, 7, and 8 (only f you have not yet taken the placement test).

Additionally, if your child has an IEP, ISP, or Section 504 Plan, please bring a copy of this plan with you.

If your student has taken extensive courses in a foreign language and hopes to test into a higher level, you will be advised of the upcoming dates for foreign language proficiency exams.
