PNDHS budgets a substantial amount of financial assistance each year to help with the cost of educating your child. To help determine need, we utilize a third party source known as FACTS Grant & Aid Assessment Services. In addition, the Diocese of Peoria offers the Spalding Scholarship Awards that are need based.
The deadline for applying for the Spalding Scholarship is March 15, 2015.
Included in this packet is a letter of explanation from the principal and Dean of Students. View the full policy here.
All students participating in athletics will need a sports physical before the sport begins. The IHSA sports physical form is available in the school office.
It is important to note, that due to procedural guideline changes at ICC, a number of dual credit courses require certain minimum ACT scores or minimum COMPASS scores. The Curriculum Guide states the criteria necessary for each dual credit offering. Students needing to take the ACT testing (current juniors) or COMPASS Reading and/or Math test (current sophomore and/or juniors) should do so by May 1, 2015 to be eligible for enrollment in some dual credit courses. Testing must be arranged through an on-line registration form through ICC’s website: www.icc.edu for both the main campus in East Peoria and the North Campus in Peoria. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your student’s counselor.
Students will be meeting with their counselors to choose their courses for next year. The schedule is as follows:
Juniors: January 12 – January 23
Sophomores: January 26 – February 6
Freshmen: February 9 – February 20
The 2015-2016 Curriculum Guide is available to help assist you and your student in choosing the appropriate classes. The guide gives a thorough overview of academic requirements, college entrance requirements, academic policies, and course descriptions.
Please attend your designated evening in the PND library to select courses and complete the registration process.
A – D Monday, February 2, 5 – 7:30PM
E – J Wednesday, February 4, 5 – 7:30PM
K – R Tuesday, February 10, 5 – 7:30PM
S – Z Thursday, February 12, 5 – 7:30PM
During this time your student will make course selections. For an incoming freshman the number of electives to take are very limited. Most placements will be determined by the ASPIRE test scores. Students will have the opportunity to pick from one of our four foreign language offerings (French, German, Latin, and Spanish). If you aren’t in agreement with a placement, counselors will provide you with the necessary information regarding the placement appeal process. Due to time constraints during your registration night there is not sufficient time to address placement issues during that evening. Placements can only be altered through the appeal process.
It is important to attend your designated registration evening to prevent a backlog of parents having to wait a prolonged period of time to register their students. If you cannot attend your designated evening, please call your student’s counselor at (309) 691-8741.
