Goals

and parish communities.

Letter to each Pastor to inform him of his Parents' Board representative.
We will ask for his support and cooperation with the Parents' Board
on recruitment of new students and support Peoria Notre Dame activities.
Publish Parents' Board names in parish bulletins,
encouraging parent cooperation and involvement.
Host parents' coffees to introduce parents
of future students to the value of a Peoria Notre Dame education.
Assist Development Director with parish recruitment teams.
To promote involvement in Peoria Notre Dame High School activities.
Activities:
Encourage widespread participation
in Parent Association sponsored events.
Publish Parents' Board Newsletter 6 times a year.
To promote drug and alcohol free student body.
Activities:
Cooperate with school preventionist.
Sponsor post-graduation party.
Promote parents networking.
To recognize faculty and staff for their contribution
to the Peoria Notre Dame community.
Activities:
Provide small memento on special occasions throughout the year.
Sponsor four $300 stipends for faculty continuing education.
Host faculty and staff Christmas party.
Assist Administration with non-athletic student recognition programs.
ARTICLE I. NAME
The Association shall be known as Peoria Notre Dame High School Parents' Association.
ARTICLE II. PURPOSE
The purpose of this Association is to develop programs that will involve parents in school activities with the objective of promoting better communication and understanding between parents, faculty and students.
ARTICLE III. MEMBERSHIP
All parents and guardians of Peoria Notre Dame High School students are members of the Parents' Association.
ARTICLE IV. DUES
Membership shall be activated by dues of $10.00 per family per year payable in September.
ARTICLE V. PARENTS' ASSOCIATION BOARD
Section 1
The Association shall have an Executive Committee, hereafter called the Parents' Board. It is the purpose of this Board to formulate policies consistent with the purpose of the Parents' Association and implement these policies.
Section 2
The Parents' Board shall consist of parents or guardians of Peoria Notre Dame High School students. The development director, business manager, and a faculty representative shall be ex-officio members.
Section 3
All members of the Parent Board shall be nominated by their pastors, except for representatives of the non-Catholic families of Peoria Notre Dame. The Parents' Board shall consist of at least 16 parent couples (includes single parent or guardian), with one parent couple at large. All parishes shall be represented with small parishes being combined under one representative and large parishes having two representatives.
Section 4
The term of office for each board member shall be two years. The two-year term of office shall be staggered, so that one half the board will retire each year. A parent couple may serve no more than two consecutive two-year terms. If it should occur that a parent couple does not represent a particular academic year (class), additional members should be sought to ensure representation.
ARTICLE VI. OFFICERS
Section 1
The officers of this Association shall consist of the President, Vice President, and Secretary.
Section 2
The President of the Association will preside at all Association meetings and at the Parents' Board meetings. The President has the responsibility of filling mid-term vacancies on the Parents' Board and chairing the Nominating Committee of existing officers from the Parents' Board for the selection of new officers for the forthcoming year.
Section 3
The term of all officers shall be one year with the exception of the Vice President, who shall assume the office of President the second year. Installations for the coming year will be held at the conclusion of the June meeting of each academic year, following selection of new Board members.
Section 4
The duties of the other officers are the conventional duties associated with such offices with particulars specified in Robert's Rules of Order.
ARTICLE VII. STANDING COMMITTEES
Calendar:
The Calendar Committee shall oversee design, production, distribution and sales of the raffle calendars.
Ways and Means:
The Ways and Means Committee shall develop and recommend fundraising strategies to the Parents' Board and assist the Treasure in developing an annual budget.
Newsletter:
The Newsletter Committee shall submit Parents' Board news and prepare the Newsletter for mailing each month.
Hospitality:
The Hospitality Committee shall secure and organize volunteers for receptions throughout the year and maintain the supply inventory of the Parents' Board. The events that they are responsible for include

Faculty/Staff Relations:
The Faculty/Staff Relations Committee shall conduct recognition activities throughout the year including
Faculty/ Staff Christmas Lunch
Catholic Schools Week Faculty/Staff Recognition
Membership:
The Membership Committee shall conduct the membership drive each year and maintain a roster of current members and shall assist with the planning of and board participation in the annual Picnic for incoming freshmen and their parents.
Parish Liaison:
The Parish Liaison Committee shall assist the Development Director with recruitment of new students and other duties as requested including
Assisting with sales of the raffle calendar
Coordinating Parent Coffees for recruitment.
Social:
The Social Committee will develop and organize social events for Parents' Board members throughout the year including
Chili Supper
New Years' Eve Party
Liaison to Preventionist:
The Liaison to Preventionist Committee will meet with the school preventionist before each meeting and will coordinate the Safe Homes program.
ARTICLE VIII. MEETINGS
The Parents' Board shall meet at least six times per academic year, on the second Tuesday of August, September, October, December, February, and May. The General Association meetings shall be held at the discretion of the Parents' Board.
Section 1
Persons wishing to address the Board shall make this fact known to the President prior to the Board Meeting. Persons shall be permitted to address the Board at the discretion of the President or presiding officer or by any Board Member moving for the privilege of the floor. The President, or presiding officer, shall have the discretion to limit the remarks of any person addressing the Board.
ARTICLE IX. USE OF FUNDS
The monies of the Association shall be used for maintenance of the Association and special school needs or projects. The Treasurer shall obtain Parents' Board approval for disbursements of over $100.00. The Treasurer or the President shall manage receipts and disbursements of all Parents' Board sponsored projects in the absence of the Treasurer.
ARTICLE X. AMENDMENTS
Amendments to this Constitution must be submitted in writing to the Board at any meeting. Amendments shall be acted upon at the next Board meeting and shall require approval of two-thirds of the Parents' Board for adoption.
