1. Catholic secondary education has been available in Peoria for more nearly 150 years.
2. Peoria Notre Dame High School has a unique history in that it came to exist when three Catholic High Schools; the Academy of Our Lady, Spalding Institute, and Bergan High School merged.
3. Peoria Notre Dame High School has an enrollment of more than 800 students.
4. There are three full-time academic advisors/counselors available to support our student’s daily and college planning needs.
5. There is one state certified counselor available to support emotional needs.
6. School begins at 7:50 a.m. and ends at 2:40 p.m.
7. Each student has a locker and those taking Physical Education have a second locker.
8. More than 80% of all students participate in at least one extracurricular activity.
9. Sophomore, Junior, and Senior certified students may bring a car to school. There are also the alternatives of riding to and from school on one of Peoria Notre Dame’s school bus routes, or students can make use of the city bus transit system using a reduced fare pass.
10. Students may purchase lunch for $4-$5 per day or bring a prepared lunch from home.
11. Peoria Notre Dame’s dress code includes a uniform oxford shirt with bar logo, uniform bar coded dress pants, and other sweater, belt, and shoe options.
12. A daily mass is offered in the school’s chapel at 7:15 a.m.
13. Of Peoria Notre Dame High School’s 2006 and 2007 graduates, 100% went on to college. Of PND's 2008 graduates, 99.9% went on to college. Of Peoria Notre Dame's 2009 graduating class, 99.4% went on to college.
14. Last year’s graduating class earned nearly $7.2 million in scholarship offers.
15. Every student at Peoria Notre Dame is required to take a theology class each semester.
16. Approximately 95% of Peoria Notre Dame’s student body is Catholic and 5% is non-Catholic.
17. Financial aid at Peoria Notre Dame is based on need. There are no athletic scholarships available so students can attend our high school. To apply for tuition assistance, families must complete and mail in a FACTS Business Solutions for Education form. FACTS is an independent agency that analyzes and provides Peoria Notre Dame with a report indicating the family’s ability to pay the school’s tuition. We assure that the application and financial awarding process is handled with guarded confidentiality.
18. Need based financial assistance is met through scholarship sources.
